Taiji In Chicago

Daoist Principles in Practice

We are a taiji (tai chi) school in Chicago, IL practicing the World Wide Way system taught by Patrick Kelly. This taiji system is an intelligent synthesis of the three great esoteric streams of Daoism/Buddhism, Gnosticism/Sufism, and Yogic internal work as studied by Patrick for over 50 years and synthesized with the approval of his teachers.

We believe that the great purpose of taiji is the great purpose of life itself – internal evolution.

If you're interested in learning more about our system of energy cultivation, self refinement, and meditation, we request that you first watch a full class to see how we teach and practice, and so you can ask any questions that might arise.

Reserve your space here to observe a class, free of charge. New students are accepted the first week of every month, between the 1st to the 7th.

Read about our lineage and what to expect from practicing taiji on The Practice page and watch videos on the Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? of our taiji system on the Media page

We bring in highly experienced teachers from Europe and Asia to train with us and our local teachers travel internationally to practice. We are dedicated to supporting a sincere practice that is in a lineage of real teachings.

We offer weekly classes

Seek a broad balance of life experience while balancing action, feeling and thought.

  • Harm no one – help those near to you.

  • Respond positively – don't react.

  • Understand others – change yourself.
